Summer Itinerary

9:00 AM:  Breakfast at Mountain Peak Coffee

Start your day with a little local flavor at Mountain Peak Coffee. Grab a hot or iced coffee and homemade pastry, and chit chat with the locals about their favorite spots! 

10:00 AM:  Visit Cedar Breaks at Cedar Breaks National Monument

Only a ten minute drive from Brian Head, Cedar Breaks National Monument boasts a beautiful half-mile deep geologic red rock amphitheater -- a sight you have to see to believe. This national park has plenty of hiking trails that will take you to ponds, wildflower meadows, and lookouts, all while wandering through ancient trees and Southern Utah’s famously stunning red rock. 

1:00 PM:  Get Your Gear! at Brian Head Sports


After lunch, head to Bristlecone Pond for fishing! Our pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout so you and your family are sure to catch a beauty. On your way to the Pond, you pass Brian Head Sports, which is where you will get all of your fishing gear! 

1:30 PM:  Fishing & Swimming at Bristlecone Pond

Just a short walk away from lunch is Bristlecone Pond, a pond that is home to the Town’s water activities. Take it easy in the summer sun by swimming and fishing, or keep the action going by kayaking or paddleboarding. 

4:00 PM:  ATVing at Town Trails

Brian Head Outdoor Adventure and will get you ready to ride with your own ATVs. Need a map? Stop by the Town Hall for a “Town Trails” map that will show you the best trails for your desired difficulty level and best scenery. 

 

6:00 PM:  Dinner at Giant Steps Cafe at Brian Head Resort

Nothing says a mountain getaway quite like a homemade BBQ dinner. Brian Head Resort not only serves savory and smoky barbecue, but it is served up by the Resort's very own owner, John. Come enjoy the resort's family atmosphere at Brian Head Resort and meet the owner himself while filling your family's bellies.

8:00 PM:  Sunset & Stargazing at Brian Head Peak 

Take an evening drive up to the highest point in Brian Head: Brian Head Peak. The Peak boasts an incredible view for sunset, and when the sun disappears, a magnanimous amount of stars can be seen. Bring blankets and telescopes and prepare your eyes for a feast of diamonds.

Winter Itinerary

9:00 AM:  Coffee at Navajo Lodge at Brian Head Resort 

Start your morning off right: caffeinated. Navajo Lodge at Brian Head Resort has an official Starbucks located within the lodge complete with breakfast options to keep you sustained for your winter activity filled day.

10:00 AM:  Visit Cedar Breaks at Cedar Breaks National Monument

Only a ten minute drive from Brian Head, Cedar Breaks National Monument boasts a beautiful half-mile deep geologic red rock amphitheater -- a sight you have to see to believe. While the road to Cedar Breaks is closed during the winter, there is still plenty to do in the park. You can cruise along the groomed trail through the park on a snowmobile (check out Brian Head Powersports for snowmobile rentals). Guided snowshoe hikes are a visitor favorite, especially because they end with hot chocolate! 

12:00 PM:  Lunch at Pizano's Pizzeria


Visit Tony & Melissa for their warm, savory pizza, a crowd favorite. Pizano’s has been a Brian Head favorite for years, with memorabilia of the mountain’s past decking the walls. Pizano’s is located in the Village Mall. 

2:00 PM:  Snowmobiling at Thunder Mtn Motorsports

Go visit Kelly at Thunder Mountain Motorsports and he will get you set up for your snowmobile tour! Adventure with the experts as they show you the beautiful backcountry of Brian Head. 

4:00 PM:  Warm up inside by the fire at Your Own Condo

An adventure like snowmobiling is sure to wear you and your crew out. Relax and warm up by the fireplace in your condo. Let your kids connect back to the social media world for a minute to post exciting photos of your thrilling day so far. 

6:00 PM:  Dinner at Your Own Condo

Nothing says a mountain getaway quite like a dutch oven. Prepare your family’s favorite meal the good old-fashioned way: in the dutch oven. Top it off with dutch oven cobbler with fresh summer berries. 

8:00 PM:  Winter Star Party at Navajo Lodge

Cedar Breaks National Monument’s park staff and astronomy volunteers host winter star parties where guests can learn everything from constellation mythology to the structure of the universe. Laser light tours of the constellations are provided followed by star viewing through several telescopes. Explore the depths of our universe by observing swirling nebulae, twinkling star clusters, neighborly planets and distant galaxies!
